The Bioscience and Technology Business Center (BTBC) main facility, located on the West Campus of the University of Kansas, opened in August 2010. Sinc then, BTBC has grown to include two additional facilities, making it the largest business incubator network in Kansas and one of the largest in the Midwest.

Within 16 months of opening, the BTBC has reached full occupancy and plans for Phase II planning are well under way.  Phase II will entail construction of an additional 20,000-30,000 square feet of private tenant space.  Tenants in the BTBC facility reap the benefits of the locating in the Lawrence area with access to University of Kansas researchers, technical and scientific expertise and a skilled workforce.

Clients at the BTBC include:

  • Gyrasol – a molecular diagnostics and drug testing company specializing in technologies that may help predict with drugs will be most effective for specific cancer patients.
  • Argenta – a global provider of drug development services and contract product manufacturing for the animal health industry
  • Mencuro Therapeutics Inc. – a drug development company focused on pain treatment
